Rome man faces drug, multiple theft charges

Floyd County police have charged a Rome man with theft and multiple drug offenses, according to reports at the Floyd County Jail.

According to the reports:

James Richard Forrister, 40, of 3575 Kingston Ave., was in jail without bail Friday night after his arrest on a warrant contending he stole jewelry and cash from a residence on Nov. 20 of last year.

While searching his home, police found a marijuana smoking device in a cigarette pack. They also found syringes and scales. Police also found suspected methamphetamine.

Forrister is charged with misdemeanor use of drug-related objects, felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and felony theft by taking.
